University de Valencia is a modern European university roots back to the 15th century.

Universitat de València was founded in 1499 and, initially, was dedicated to the study of Medicine, Humanities, Theology and Law. Nowadays it has become a modern European university opened to almost every branch of knowledge. Given the wide range of studies offered as well as its humanistic dimension, Universitat de València is now one of the largest, oldest and most diverse universities in Spain. The University has 45,800 degree and 8,600 postgraduate students.

Universitat de València is recognized as one of the most outstanding Spanish universities in both national and international rankings. Universitat de València has participated and is participating in several European projects under the subsequent RTD European Framework Programmes (I to VII) and other European Programmes (LLP)/ Actions: ERASMUS, SOCRATES, LEONARDO, INTAS, EQUAL.
